Ralph D. Woop

2018

A music portrait with a strong effect of colour and lettering. The work combines pyrography with an iconic stage presence. The surface of the support is not concealed but becomes a resonating space for the depiction, giving the image its handcrafted presence. The figure appears not merely as a motif but as the carrier of a story that keeps working within the material.
