An art-historical, religious reference as coloured pyrography. The work combines a devotional image, a Renaissance echo and wood-burning technique. The warmth of the wood and the depth of the pyrography give the motif a physical, almost relief-like effect. Its effect arises from layering, fragment and suggestion; it is precisely the unfinished quality that gives the work its tension.
