Ralph D. Woop

2018

An animal portrait with a calm gaze and a warm wooden surface. The work shows the strength of pyrography in fur, eyes and fine transitions. This creates a work between drawing, material and narrative, in which the burn mark itself becomes a pictorial expression. The figure appears not merely as a motif but as the carrier of a story that keeps working within the material.
