A mythic, feminine work with a historical and magical feel. The interplay of drawing, burn mark and pictorial space reads densely narrative. The surface of the support is not concealed but becomes a resonating space for the depiction, giving the image its handcrafted presence. Read as a portrait, the work refuses a smooth surface and instead seeks character, memory and presence.
