Ralph D. Woop

2020

A square double portrait from the context of the Wilson Memorial. Music, memory and tribute take centre stage. The warmth of the wood and the depth of the pyrography give the motif a physical, almost relief-like effect. The gaze and posture of the figure condense into a quiet counterpart that creates closeness and distance at once.
